Kingdom Leader#1

God is not going to let you out of this one!

Many years ago, right out of high school, I joined the Army and went to Germany.

While there a guy from a church invited me out to worship.  I came and found a church in the making.  They were pioneering the church.  Or as some say it, it was a church plant.

I had a good time coming out.  I was a visitor.  I could go when I wanted and fellowship and have a good time.  The preacher talked about jobs around the church that needed to be done, but I was just enjoying my getting to Germany, learning the German language and seeing sites in Germany.

But one day, a brother said he had orders (military transfer orders) to go back to the states.  He would be leaving the church.  I took note that a few of the other faithful guys that were in the church when I started coming out, had received their orders also to go back to the states.

I thought, pretty soon, all the guys that were here before I got there would be leaving.

I prayed for the Pastor and the future of the church.

I prayed, "Lord, Pastor Wright is going to need help.  The brethren are getting their orders to go back to the states.  Please Dear Lord, send Pastor Wright some help."

I was very sincere.  I wanted to the work of God to grow.  I wanted to work of God to continue.  I said, "Dear Lord, please send Pastor Wright some help".

I felt the response of God so profoundly, that I have never forgotten it.

He said, "I have sent him help.  I've sent Him...you."

From that moment on, I led songs in the church services.  I picked people up for church.  I organized outreach times to the barracks to invite GIs out to church.  I became a worker and not just a visitor.

I believe God is still raising up workers.  We just have to shift our thoughts from being visitors to praying for the work of God.

Some don't want to make a commitment to a pioneering church / church plant.  Some want to go to the big ready made churches.

No ill intended to established churches, thank God.  But the need is great.  And God is still building His churches for a lost and dying world.

So God brought you to church with us. God blessed you and you had good time.

You may have even prayed, "God bless Pastor Tucker".  Maybe God is saying, "I have blessed Pastor Tucker.  I have sent him...you."

There is no getting out of that.  You just have to surrender and be the kingdom worker that God has called you to be.

We will be having a Easter / Resurrection Sunday leaders meeting this next week.  We will assign parts of the worship service and the promoting of the service to various leaders that volunteer.  It will be an opportunity for you to be trained and get experience in running an aspect of God's work.

Would you pray about it?

Go to prayer request form and let me know that you would be interested in developing in your church leadership skills.
